Young Investigators activities

One of the missions of the junior committee (JC) is to attract and involve young members in the ETRS Society. Following this mission, the JC organizes every year several young investigators (YI) activities during the ETRS meeting. The basis of these activities is to create social opportunities for networking and meeting other young researchers. All events are open for junior investigators (<40).

Young Investigator Dinner
After several years, the YI dinner is a well-known event within the ETRS society. The dinner often takes place during one of the first evenings of the conference. All junior investigators have the possibility to join and socialize to get to know each other within a relaxed and nice atmosphere. The dinner often involves the tasting of local food specialties; the last two dinners have been a great success with the tasting of French cheese and champagne in Reims and the tasting of Scottish cuisine and whiskey in Edinburgh.
This years YI dinner will take place on Wednesday 21 October directly after the welcome reception. So please join us, for the successful combination of local food specialties and worldwide networking!

Travel Award
The Travel Award originally started at the 20th ETRS meeting in Ghent in 2010. The aim of this award is to enable young scientists to go visit a foreign laboratory, in order to learn a new technique. Each year a sum of money will be award to cover (part of) the costs of a short stay at a foreign laboratory. The prize winner will be announced in the Young Investigator session at the next ETRS meeting. The prize winner will have the opportunity to present his/her experiences at the ETRS meeting, when he/she is able to attend the meeting. Lab kitchen session
The lab kitchen session is a hands-on informative session. Every year the session focuses on one special technique researchers in the Tissue Regeneration field might want to learn more about. This years lab kitchen session will take place on Wednesday 21 October at 13.30 pm. Be there for an informative hands-on session!

Work in progress session
This year, the JC will organize a new session based on the request of junior investigators to share and discuss general topics in the field of tissue repair. The session is developed to share work in progress, increase the sharing of information and stimulate discussion. This session will be divided in a couple of small target groups which will stimulate the option for discussion. More information will follow shortly.
